About

I am proud to be a public school teacher. I  am a Teacher Librarian. In my school district, my title is Library Technology Educator, but every time I hear that title, I think of the teacher in View From Saturday (let the reader understand the meaning). I teach Information Literacy, and I teach Technology skills. To the extent that I am able, I integrate projects into the regular classroom by collaborating together with classroom teachers. The purpose of project learning is for students to learn about the tools and techniques of research — but they learn by doing research. It’s authentic learning. The purpose of all learning is for students to become independent; it’s for students to become lifelong learners.  Doing research and putting technology projects together are the skills students need to survive in the future. This is literacy in the 21st Century.
