Great to meet you 2020! I've already thought of a few edits and additions for the poster/flyer -- whatever it ended up being. I'll update and send you a note if I get around to modifying. Feel free to edit yourself if you so choose. Everything on my blog is Creative Commons friendly (the way of the future!). I'll spend a little time perusing your Delicious links to see if you have any I don't. Good first day. I hope yours was as well.

[...] Google to go Head-to-Head with BFG 08.07.2009 | Posted in Computer World Bloomberg News is reporting that Google is considering writing an Operating System to compete with Microsoft Windows. Link here . Very interesting. It looks like they will start with an OS for low cost laptops — and see where the market takes them. I, for one, think competition is always good. Competition makes public education better, too — but I realize that opens about 144 can of worms for many of my colleagues. Authored by tadkison .
Mercedes,
Thanks for the comment. Notice that Larry Ferlazzo's blog contains the link. The links in this blog template are rather obscure, but where there is a link to Ferlazzo's blog in the text, there is another sentence that begins This entry. That links to the specific post where he lists several sites. The one that I have used the most is Purple Planet (http://www.purple-planet.com).

Thank you for the comment John. I do not at all disagree that closing schools will cause a problem for the students and will affect their lives greatly. Closing schools will likely have a negative impact on the neighborhoods and will in all likelihood further the decline of these neighborhoods. As the Gazette editorial (referenced in blog entry) stated, however, it is not the school board's responsiblility to fight urban decay. It is the School Board's responsibility to make fiscally responsible decisons. They (really prior boards) have procrastinated, and now it is time to make some closures -- not because the decision is easy, but because the demand for efficiency outweighs the need for small, intimate schools. You state, "they must make this decision properly." And indeed they must, however, they have taken time, hired consultants, invited public participation, and studied this issue. Further study is not going to bring further insight at this point. Now it is simply time to swallow hard and make the tough choices. In this case the choices are indeed difficult, nevertheless, I have confidence that our board will do so.
